Baush & Lomb Firması tarafından 10 Mayıs 2016’da Kayseri’ de organize edilen toplantıda “Akılcı Steroid Kullanımı” başlıklı bir konferans verdim. Oldukça önemli bu konuda, yapmış oldukları güzel organizasyonla meslektaşlarımızla bizi bir araya getiren Baush & Lomb Firması yöneticilerine ve emeği geçen tüm çalışanlarına çok teşekkür ederim.

KURU GÖZ TOPLANTILARI

Allergan İlaç Firması tarafından, 21 Nisan 2016’da Kayseri' de ve 12 Mayıs 2016’da İstanbul' da organize edilen iki toplantıda “Tanıdan Tedaviye Kuru Göz” başlıklı konferansı verdim. Katılımın oldukça yüksek olduğu bu iki toplantıda, meslektaşlarımla beraber kuru gözü derinlemesine tartışma fırsatı yakaladık. Bu güzel organizasyonla bizleri bir araya getiren Allergan İlaç Firması yöneticilerine ve emeği geçen tüm çalışanlarına çok teşekkür ediyorum.

POSTER PRESENTATION AT ARVO MEETING

I presented our recent study entitled "Randomized, controlled, crossover trial comparing the impact of sham or intranasal neurostimulation on conjunctival goblet cell degranulation" at ARVO meeting in Seattle. The research topic received a great deal of attention amongst the scientists during the poster session. 

Briefly, our results have documented that the Oculeve Intranasal Lacrimal Neurostimulator (Allergan plc, Dublin, Ireland.) not only increases aqueous tear production, it also stimulates conjunctival goblet cell mucin secretion, offering a promising new approach to treatment of dry eye. 

I'd like to thank Prof. Stephen C. Pflugfelder (Professor of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA) and Michael Ackermann (Vice President Neurostimulation at Allergan) for inviting me to investigate this brand-new innovative product that will change the management of dry eye.

TWO CONFERENCES IN USA

I gave two talks at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami on February 19-20th, 2016. The first talk was about "Treatment of Dry Eye and Clinical Investigation of Optive Fusion" at the VIII. State of Art International Meeting that was organized by the Allergan. The second talk was about "Corneal Wound Healing & Epi-off Corneal Cross-linking" at the PanCornea meeting that was organized by Pan-American Cornea Society. 

I'd like to thank all of my colleagues who attended the meetings from Latin American counties and both the executive board members of Allergan and Pan-American Cornea Society for organizing these two great meetings.
